My process is driven by memory, language, connection, and desire.
Each project requires a level of flexibility in the approach, but what never fails to inspire me is a memory and desire.
How am I connecting to a project or idea? What memories or emotions arise in conversation and do we have any in common?
After identifying those connections, I use them as cornerstones for the concept and guardrails to direct creative decisions.
What elements or principles are conducive to championing the translation, and perhaps evolution, of the story and how we share it?
When it comes to desire, my mother always told me,
“If you can’t find what you want—make it.”
Always to my surprise, much of what I want, I can’t find and it is then that desire becomes my prompt.
I love playing a game of “you know what would be cute?” and if we collaborate together you’ll be asking the same thing too.
